Medea's Bellicosa, Abraxas, manifests as an ornate Cross-Spear. It grants her the ability to create and manipulate purifying white flames. It allows her to cleanse diseases and various forms of corruption and curses, though it's generally unpleasant for those subjected to it. Naturally it can be used in a myriad of offensive ways.
Found in the Badlands, Jor and Ouro are twin dragons that have bonded themselves to Medea. When separated from her, they stand at roughly twenty feet tall and twelve feet long, with a tail span of roughly equal length. One holds the power of Earth, while the other is capable of commanding the Air. While bonded with her, they provide her with a limited portion of their power simultaneously. Though, they can separate from her momentarily (2-3 posts) and use the full extent of their, typically destructive, strength.
Medea is capable of creating and manipulating Dark Matter in a myriad of ways. From creating every day objects such as chairs and umbrellas, to creating weapons such as swords and axes or even protective barriers and shields. She can also create a mass of Dark Matter in a target location that draws everything to it much like a black hole before exploding violently in a mass of energy.
After forming a symbiotic relationship with two dragons, Medea is not fully human. Now she boasts immense strength, durability and speed that eclipses her former peak as a pure human. In addition to this, she can momentarily create scales on her body to absorb particularly strong attacks, though it takes some time to recreate them after they've been damaged. (EG: If she blocks an really strong swing with her scales on her left arm, it'd take like 4-5 posts before she could use her scales on her left arm again.) In addition to this, she can sprout dragon wings and use them to fly.
As her ancestors mostly lived in and defended Oransol, they adopted the natives' talent of speaking to animals. This is something Medea naturally inherited, as such she can generally converse with every animal within Sium. Though, after her bonding with Jormungandr and Ouroboros, this has extended to some form of 'domination', especially when it comes to dealing with other dragons. She can typically command them to follow simple commands if it's in their 'nature' or not impossible (EG: making them stop moving if she tells them to stop, lower their weapons or calm down if they're 'rational') but if it's something that goes outside of their morality (trying to make a peaceful dragon/creature go on a murderous rampage) then it wouldn't work.
Having grown up to fight for Crux Fidelis, she's quite skilled in combat. She's had her Bellicosa for a considerably long time, so it's almost an extension of her body at this point. She can wield Abraxas with considerable ease, and her skill with polearms in general (through consistent training) has made her known for her swift and relentless strikes. In addition to this, she is also a skilled hand to hand fighter.
Medea is, at her core, a selfish woman. Everything she does, she does for her own interests. Unlike some, she is not a staunch defender, believer or crusader for Crux Fidelis. In her eyes, everything she does for Crux Fidelis is merely a necessary evil which ensures the safety and protection of her family. She is a person who struggles empathize with others; when confronted with the plight or suffering of others, she usually just doesn't care. Her heart is cold and closed off to others; save for a few people outside of her family, there is next to no one she's close to.
But that is how she prefers to keep things. She's the type of person who hates forming attachments. Yet, at the same time, she is envious of those who are happy and that have those attachments she avoids. In spite of her harsh exterior, Medea is not someone who is as resentful of humanity and Sium as she presents herself to be, but she knows there's little merit or value in being a bleeding heart or sympathetic. Medea knows she can't save everyone, so she focuses on doing what's necessary for her family's survival. If she had to choose between the life of only one member of her family or an entire town, she'd choose her family every time with no hesitation or remorse.
Despite the very nature of Sium, Medea struggles to believe in Eleftherios. Her faith is flimsy at best; she has far too many questions to truly throw her belief into Eleftherios. Still, she frequently finds herself 'talking' to Eleftherios in a search for advice or guidance. In some ways, she wishes she could put all of her faith and hope into Eleftherios' return like many people, but she doesn't have the confidence.
> Because of her cold personality and penchant for brutal or merciless action, most people view Medea as Elysia's younger sister. And while Medea frequently hung around Elysia and her clique, the past few years she's mostly kept to herself and just focused solely on whatever assignment she's given. Though Elysia's death and subsequent resurrection has caused her to return.
> Medea has a soft spot for most household pets.
> Her only remaining family is her grandfather, two younger brothers and two younger sisters.
> Because of her repressed emotions and feelings, she's typically quite violent when she fights. Fighting and violence is typically her method of dealing with bottled up emotions. As such, she can typically come off as bloodthirsty or sadistic when fighting.
> Is fond of marshmallows.
Once upon a time, Medea's family were high-ranking members of the Monarchy. They were an eclectic family whose sole interests, while flawed, was the protection of Sium's people and its future. From the Ashbring family spawned engineers, scientists, doctors, knights and a variety of enigmatic figures. Several had gone on to join Weltschmerz in an attempt to further the scientific advancement of Sium while others opted to swear themselves to lives of fealty -- forming demon contracts and becoming knights sworn to the Monarchy. The Ashbring name was one that was pristine and respected during the height of the Monarchy, but as time went on, things changed.
Sillage was gifted to humanity by Eleftherios and Crux Fidelis began to make their rise to power in its wake, the ragtag exorcists slowly gaining momentum, popular and power as time went on. And during this time, public opinion of the Monarchy began to change and waiver. They utilized the power of demons, the bane of humanity's existence, to protect humanity? And many of them abused their status and power. The signs of rebellion were clear as day.
And as Civil War broke out across Sium, the Ashbrings slowly descended into chaos alongside the world itself. Some members of the family chose to side with the Cross, condemning their family's method of utilizing demons for powers -- despite it being the crux of their entire existence -- while the rest chose to remain loyalty. And very soon Ashbring blood flowed freely and without stop as brother turned on brother and sister upon sister.
It wasn't long before only a handful were left alive, and by that time the Monarchy was all but overthrown. In a public display, the last remaining rebel Ashbrings were executed by Medea's grandfather as a show of loyalty to Crux Fidelis. It was the only way to ensure his family's survival, so he did it without hesitation. Ever since, the Ashbrings have been apart of Crux Fidelis, their former ties to the Monarchy all but gone.
And by the time Medea came into the world, the Ashbring name had been dragged through the mud and they were viewed with disdain by those still loyal to the Monarchy. They were viewed as traitors and cowards, and when Medea was six, she watched her father and mother be killed out of revenge. And from that moment, she was trained to serve Crux Fidelis, becoming a Hallowed as soon as physically possibly as it would be the only way to ensure her family's safety by providing them with a way to live in Caersewiella.
It wasn't long before she grew close to Elysia Mirharai, viewing her as both as mentor and friend. Eventually, however, at the age of 20, Medea was given an assignment that took her to Xipilkha. She spent the next three years there, fighting under the banner of Crux Fidelis.
Eventually she was ordered to tread into the Badlands where she sojourned for a year and a half. She had been apart of a squad meant to traverse to the depths of the Badlands in search of discovering even a handful of its secrets. Eventually she returned from the expedition -- the only survivor -- with sealed lips. She swore up and down that nothing of value was found.
Eventually, after extensive questioning and several medical tests, she was once again cleared for active field duty. And now she continues to do what's necessary to ensure her family's safety while trying to protect her own secrets.
