Tsukinaga Leo - Ensemble Stars
Tauropolos - A demonic sword belonging to Orthrus. In its base form, it's a silver rapier that appears to do regular rapier things. However, each time it hits an object, the object becomes heavier. If opponents are hit by the rapier, their center of gravity falls and they immediately have a closer affinity to the floor.
In its true form, Tauropolos takes the form of a handgun. The gun is able to fire energy bullets in a similar fashion to a regular gun. However, Tauropolos's true form loses its gravity based powers and instead trades the powers for an ability to create an elemental type bullet. Alder can only fire one type of bullet at a time, and the energy bullet can only be of ice, fire, electricity, stone, or steel.
Luck Manipulation - Alder's innate sillage ability. Passively, Alder can cause good fortune to come his way outside of combat. This includes ranges from things such as finding a ton of coins on the ground to being at the right place at the right time.
In combat, however, Alder can "steal" the luck of others in order to boost his own. This is usable at most three times in a round before Alder sits on a cooldown period he calls "Karmic Retribution". For the duration of Karmic Retribution, the next three attacks aimed at Alder, no matter how hard he tries to avoid it, it will always hit. Once the three hits have been done, Alder can steal the luck of others again, whether it's to dodge an enemy attack, make his attack hit, or cause the opponent to miss. Once he steals three times, the cycle repeats itself. This ability can be blocked by sillage-cancelling powers, or by sillage blocking abilities, or by people with luck reversal powers. (aka requires OOC permission for lethal hits)
Demon contract: Orthrus - Contracting with the bull demon Orthrus gives Alder access to several of Orthrus's abilities along with Orthrus's weapon. In return for the contract, Orthrus would eat away at Alder's life until his death, in which case, he'd take over the body.
Iron Skin - Alder passively is tougher than a regular human and has much more stamina. He can also call upon Orthrus to create a black suit of armor. The demonic armor acts as a wall/second skin of sorts. It can easily be cut by Bellicosa or holy attacks, but regular attacks will deal less damage to Alder himself.
Enhancement: Vigor - Alder has the strength of a demon, able to lift, throw, and hit things with much more strength than a human.
Cocky and somewhat bitter, Alder is the type of person who would rather someone get to the point quickly. He'll employ any means necessary in order to get the information he needs, whether it's attempting to injure the other party or deal in sweet negotiations. Ever since he found out about his luck magic, he's only gotten cockier.
Funnily enough, Asher and Alder look so insanely alike, it's almost impossible to tell the difference. Just look at the eyes. Alder's is green, not blue.
Alder was born after Asher in a remote and quiet house in Linden. The two were practically inseparable, Alder following Asher into the deep unknowns of exploration. Alder would always bring back interesting books he'd find in a dump somewhere and read it all with Asher. Knowledge was power, after all.
However, once the two reached their teenage years, their life took a drastic turn. Every night, Alder would sneak out of his bedroom to be met with the angry voices of his parents arguing. He wasn't sure about what, but they sounded extremely vexed. He could even recall some nights where he could hear his mother crying. In one night, it was all over though.
His parents had sent Alder away to explore for some imaginary item that was an "important treasure" for the family. He had no idea the events to come when he returned, but much had happened while he was gone. It had been several hours that Alder searched in the woods for the mythical treasure, and once he couldn't find it, he became fairly certain he was being duped. He returned home promptly, fearing something was wrong, and once he returned, his suspicions were confirmed.
He returned to find his neighborhood destroyed, his parents killed, and his own brother heavily injured. When Asher came to, he was told that they were caught in a crossfire between Crux and some demons.
Since that day, Alder noticed Asher's increase in obsession with a hatred for Crux. And Alder couldn't blame him. After all, the crossfire between Crux and the demons were what caused the family to be like this in the first place. Life was difficult on the streets alone, but with Alder's natural penchant for bargaining, it wasn't as hard as it could have been. Asher's extensive research led the two to Apocrypha, and that's where the two have been since.
While Asher was quick to form a demon contract, Alder remained hesitant. There were potential risks and rewards and Alder wanted to make sure he fully knew what he was getting into. And yet, he still made one in return for survival. Caught unaware in a mission a separated from his team, Alder was taken hostage by several Cabal acolytes, determined to prove their worthiness to the Black God. A spectating demon, Orthrus seemed attracted to the boy's will to live, and formed a demon contract with him, promising strength and escape from his situation. Yet, this came at a price. Orthrus would continue to chip away at Alder's life force, and upon Alder's death would inhabit his body. It was stronger and more suitable, after all. And it was filled with all the luck. Alder understood that he would be forsaking his own humanity, and surprisingly, he felt perfectly content with that.
Perhaps the unfairness of the world turned him bitter.
