Practice of Sedition
In a world built upon a foundation of conflict, the past year has been notably violent. As Crux Fidelis, the Crusaders and ruling faction of Sium, suffer heavy losses from a particularly bloody Aphelion, other factions are emboldened to take action. Despite being allies, Weltschmerz's ambitious and duplicitous nature sees them taking bigger risks which threaten to break their alliance. All the while, Apocrypha continues to gain public sympathy and support while the Black Sun Cabal and Poena Damni continue to wreak havoc. As Sium races towards yet another conflict, it’s evident that a war lurks on the horizon.

Ereshkigal & Ishtar vs. Ava & Leviathan

In the southern sector of the city, two Weltschmerz officials are helping with the evacuation of the city. Though, they’re mostly just killing time – waiting out the battle of the sea beasts so they can collect their DNA after the battle is done. Things get dicey when they come across a Sin and her assistant; initially demanding they evacuate the scene, a violent confrontation is inevitable when the Sins resist. Tasked with creating a summoning circle for Lucifer, the Sins are as ready to fight as the Enforcers who intend on stopping them.

That should be the last of the evacuees. Ereshkigal sighed in relief. She and Ishtar were tasked with evacuating civilians in preparation for some sea beasts that would drift ashore after their long battle. Their remains were to be preserved and brought back to HQ, and frankly, Ereshkigal was confident that she and Ishtar would be able to handle it. Perhaps mostly Ishtar, but like, she would do her best too. After all, you miss a hundred percent of all attempts you don't take or something like that!

As Ereshkigal was about to regroup with Ishtar, ready to thank her dear sister for her hard work, she spotted two figures in the distance. They both appeared to be female, and were walking directly towards the center of the city. Ah, they must be lost stragglers. Rushing over to the two, she had to wonder how folks always managed to fuck up and walk in the complete opposite direction of where they were supposed to be headed. Ereshkigal sighed before crossing her arms to confront them.

"Misses, I'm afraid the city is on lockdown for the time being. Please evacuate as soon as possible. It's not safe." she explained, standing firmly in place. "If you'd like, I can show you the exit for the city. All I ask is that you do not stay here."

Arms folded, Ishtar stood on a rooftop overlooking the flooding city. Eyes locked on the rampaging sea creatures in the distance, she let out a sharp breath before shifting on her feet. Pluviall wasn't Ishtar's region, but when Stella asked her for back-up she couldn't refuse. And besides, spending some time with Ereshkigal was more than welcome.

Normally, Ishtar would have been overjoyed to run around the city and show off how fast she was. Evacuating the people wasn't an issue for her by virtue of how fast she could get it done - she had already calculated the numbers and she knew with how fast she could how, the size of the city and the populace, she could have done it all without much fuss.

The only issue was the sea beasts. Collecting DNA from them once a victor had been decided wouldn't be hard. But the fact they'd have to be doing it behind Crux Fidelis's back? That gave her reason to pause and reconsider. She could do it, but what if someone like Soren was around? He was annoying and ugly, but he was still her friend.

She didn't want to fight her friend. That was about it, honestly. But if she had to, she'd just grab Soren and run him out of Pluviall altogether. She hoped he'd like the cold of Seracier. And then she'd just run back to Pluviall and avoid any conflict altogether.

The sound of Ereshkigal's voice caught Ishtar's attention and she looked down from her position on the roof. Apparently some stragglers still remained, but Ishtar knew her Ereshkigal could guide them out of the city. Ishtar doubted she'd have to get involved.

Ava was beaming as she wanders the city beside Levi, the pair dressed in the most fashionable designer swimwear money could buy. I mean sure, when her highness Lucifer had strongly requested she be sent to the front lines, she was more than a little panicked. I mean sure, she couldn’t die, whereas if she refused there was a very good chance that she would, but still. Dying hurt a whole lot most of the time, and the week in recovery was always so boring. However, as her mission grew closer, she couldn’t help but grow a bit excited. I mean sure, she might lose a arm or a leg. Sure, she might end up burned alive with holy fire. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to gather sea monster corpses. Or, if she was really lucky, a living specimen. And it was a seaside town at that. She was lucky enough for her job to bring her to the coast! She could spend her time swimming while on the clock!

And things had been going pretty well so far! I mean with everybody fleeing the inevitable destruction, and with the authorities overwhelmed by the panicked townspeople, there had been very few individuals to question why exactly the two were heading in the exact opposite direction, or why exactly they were carrying so much blood-soaked chalk.

Until she was stopped by a rather disapproving woman wearing a blindfold and a rather long sword.

Ava let out a long sigh, hand beginning to go to her bag. ”While I’d normally be more than happy to listen to someone as cutely dressed as yourself, unfortunately I do have to decline your offer. Myself and my assistant over here are working under a rather draconian schedule at the moment, and I am afraid that we will need to remain in the city for another ten, maybe even fifteen minutes or so. I can assure you, however, we can take care of ourselves, and we show ourselves out once we accomplish our job. I mean, unless you’d like to go for a swim after you’re done with this evacuation nonsense. I’m sure I have some rather flattering swimwear in my bag that would do even yourself someone as cute as yourself justice."

Levi had so many questions.

The first was most likely; where the fuck was she even?

The second was something along the lines of 'Why am I wearing a swimsuit and where are my clothes?' although that one proved to be fairly irrelevant, as the area seemed to be flooding as they were here, so swimming clothes were great. She'd never had those before so far! Yay!

As to the next question... why was she supposed to draw some sort of summoning circle with bloody chalk of all things? That just seemed weird, wouldn't blood in its pure form work better and stick more? Well, she was not about to start arguing with the food-giving master she'd made. But it was still a question for the philosophers as to why bloody chalk was better than true blood.

When they were stopped Levi simply yawned a little and kicked some water. She wasn't about to have a conversation she had no real business in. Instead she just surveilled her swimsuit a little closer. Orange was an ok colour, yeah. Bit tight all things considered, but her master had insisted this was fashionable. Great. She was about to ask Ava again as to why they were wearing swimsuits... she could just as well go naked. In fact whaling around a little would even be appropriate.

There were two monsters out there. Pretty big too. Maybe she could eat one of them or so... they did look kinda tasty. Somewhere between crab and squid, yeah. Leviathan caught herself drooling a little at the thought, as a droplet of saliva hit her protruding chest. She nonchalantly wiped if off both her boobs and her chin and then just yawned once more. "Ava I dun wanna draw circles... I wanna go swim and eat something." Her gaze shifted to Ereshkigal with a question mark almost literally popping up over her head. Since when had she been there again?

Probably a bit, they'd talked... oh well. She did look decently appetizing. Full cheeks, some fat around the hips. Mid section lacked a bit, but too much fat diluted the taste. Wasn't as good then... also she'd said something about evacuations? Did that mean there was more meat around? Good. Levi just nodded to herself then gazed at the buildings... yeah they'd do for a snack too. "Ava, I'm hungry I wanna eat something..." Leviathan's voice was almost a whine at this point as she hopped up and down on the spot, giddily, as if to signal her partner to let her go and eat. Her stomach in turn growled up a storm.

Ereshkigal raised an eyebrow suspiciously. She was given direct orders to escort away the two, so there was no way for her to ignore and disobey orders given from the higher ups. Ereshkigal sighed and then said, "I'm afraid there's no choice in the matter. You can either leave now or I'll have to force you out." She crossed her arms. Was dealing with other people this difficult? How did Ishtar manage to do it? Maybe she'd ask her at some point in the future.

Ereshkigal's eyes did narrow when the bigger chested but slower woman mentioned something about drawing circles. That...didn't exactly seem correct in any shape or form. "Drawing circles here is prohibited. I'm going to have to ask you to turn around now." Ereshkigal declared, crossing her arms. "I'm quite certain you can draw a circle outside the city."

Ereshkigal hoped they would turn around, but she was fairly certain they wouldn't anyways. Whatever.

From the roof, Ishtar continued to watch silently. The two newcomers seemed like they were a special type of retarded. Who the fuck walked around in swimwear? Why did it seem like no matter where Ishtar went, there were some stupid whores around that were just begging to be knocked the fuck out? She couldn't be sure but she had no issue with obliging them.

Still, it seemed like Ereshkigal could handle it... She had faith in her, but still. She knew the girl was too nice for her own good, though. It was something Ishtar both admired and sort of despised. So many things could be avoided if Ereshkigal knew how to just punch someone in the face to end arguments quickly. But, that probably wouldn't be necessary. The two women were probably just some tourists who were retarded or something.

But then they said something about 'drawing circles'. Ishtar had come across enough magic using assholes to know that 'drawing circles' usually meant some form of bullshit was abound. Were these two really tourists...? Looking over them, it was pretty easy to come to the conclusion that they were pretty suspicious. Mostly because of the woman who had the mask on her face - regular people didn't walk around with masks on.

In a moment, she was standing beside Ereshkigal - a bit in front of her as her arms folded across her chest. She was the eldest, so it was only right she took the reigns. Knowing Ereshkigal, she probably didn't notice anything amiss. But Ishtar? She was pretty much glaring daggers at the mask-faced woman.

"This area is officially off-limits to anyone who is not a Weltschmerz official, nor affiliated with Crux Fidelis." Ishtar explained lazily, honestly just wanting them to go away. "I don't know what you're here for, but if you don't leave you're going to need a new mask that covers the rest of your fucking face." She threatened, venom dripping from her voice.

"Now take your whore and fuck off."

Ava sighed, giving a dismissive wave to the distressed demon as she listened to the woman in front of her. “Just a minute Levi. Just let me finish talking, we’ll go draw a quick circle, and then we can eat and swim for as long as you want.” Politely nodding as Eres gave her instructions, she let out a loud groan as a second and rather more hostile woman approached her, and threatening her in the name o both Weltschmerz and the Cross.

Fuck Weltz. Dealing with Crux was always annoying enough, but Weltz didn’t even appreciate proper magic!

”Unfortunately neither myself nor my assistant recognize the authority of either one of your aforementioned organizations, and as a honored servant of her highness Lucifer, I am honor bound to defy their orders just as a matter of course. I honestly just wanted to spend the latter part of day swimming alongside some sea monsters….

Letting out a sigh and muttering something under her breath, the satchel at her suddenly sprung open, the small leather accessory flinging itself a good five feet off to the side. Almost simultaneously, a pair of massive webbed hands began to tear open a gaping portal from within, and a ten-foot tall ranid golem begins its awkward climb out of Ava’s bag.

”Are you two sure we really have to do this? Fighting’s always so dreadfully boring. Friend, Levi sweetie, can you two try and deal with this as quickly as possible? I’d personally rather this end with such darling little dolls still left alive, but I mean, if you really have to eat them, well, better them than us. The quicker you are, the quicker we can all go swimming.”

Hm... Gimp Mask got a partner just now... she seemed like one hell of a mouth breather. Had pretty hips though. Made Levi wonder that if she bit them they'd come apart like a Leprachaun or not. Probably not... unless she bit in the right spot, but that was more a matter of anatomy. Oh well. Levi stiffled yet another yawn, before suddenly becoming more attentive as Ava addressed her.

Something, something Lucifer. Something, something honour. Ok, sure... fine... what was going on? Swimming sounded nice!

Levi bestowed upon her partner a gaze that could be barely described as anything more than pitying. Was that 'gurl fo' real'? Swimming with seamonsters was great, but seriously, who by Aspen's blazing buns was Lucifer? Eh, it probably didn't matter. Couldn't be anyone that important if she'd never heard all that much of him. But alas, that applied to 90% of the world population. She didn't know all that many people.

Then Ava gave her orders and Levi just let out an:"Eh.", the very moment Ava touched the word 'eat them' before spontaniously expanding forward with a thunderous clasp caused by the sonic boom of her expansion. Her head formed sidways, upper jaw and lower jaw carving through the buildings at each side of the street as her roughly 150 feet high and give or take 80 feet wide maw sought to close around the two of them in the act of transformation... well, them and the approximate area they were standing in. Ava and her pet she'd leave on the other side of her transformation, directing the entirety of her mass forward.

Her jaws would have closed by the time she finished her transformation, having devoured the lower levels of the buildings 200 feet to their left and right, ahead of the position the four of them had been standing in, as well as the surface of the street where her teeth had scraped against the ground. Ergo, they were likely toppling right now. Leviathan, regardless of whether or not she'd managed to gobble her targets up, would then simply release her steam to push on forward and diagonally upwards, as her gravitational field had activated automatically as always... veiling the city district in a thick, white fog which would make seeing even one's own hand before one's eyes an impossibility. If one relied on eye-sight at the very least. Her pleasant song merely accompanied the whole act...

Ereshkigal watched as Ishtar just zipped in front of her. Part of her wished Ishtar didn't show off so much, but a part of her also told her that since Ishtar was the eldest, she'd have plenty of reason to show off. But Ishtar was quite angry at the two, and that gave Ereshkigal the slightest reason to exercise caution and aggression. These two weren't good news anyways. Even worse was when the more talkative masked woman mentioned something about Lucifer, Ereshkigal's hand moved towards her blade, and in an instant everything seemed to happen at once.

Ereshkigal sped the time around her as she drew her sword, cut out her way out of the way of the whale's mouth. She then made her way to the side of the quickly expanding whale. What the actual fuck. As she continually sped up her time, she would try to match the whale's expansion rate, dashing a couple of meters away from the whale so that she'd feel a little less floaty, and then towards the back. The matter was trying to find the masked woman. The mastermind. She couldn't let the sweet-talking woman just sick some giant whale onto them and go about drawing her circle. That was not allowed at all.

And so she let her speed do the talking for her. Granted she could only barely not catch up to Ishtar's level of speed, but that didn't stop her from traversing the size of the whole of the whale to the back. She couldn't let the masked woman draw her weird circle. Not in here at least. When she found the masked woman nestled safely behind the whale, her first thought was coward as she thought about the prospect of making other people fight for her. What an abuse of power. She sliced through the bag and dashed towards Ava. "Unfortunately, the two of us do not recognize your highness either." she explained quietly, bringing her sword down in front of her in a sweep.

She hoped she was fast enough. Her speed in her time-sped area never could truly match to Ishtar's but Ishtar was older, so it made a ton of sense. Her primary goal was to take down the masked woman. Do that and then regroup with Ishtar to take on the whale. The goal was simple enough. "My blade can cut through any material that isn't a holy weapon. No offense, but I'm afraid our battle ends here." she spoke coldly, preparing herself to go deal with the giant whale demon after she was finished here. She had to make sure the masked woman couldn't move anyways. Not enough to draw some weird circle at least.
