Invidia

At the very bottom of the tower rests the room of Envy. The room is completely frozen with icicles coming down from a ceiling that reflects just like a mirror. Well, somewhat like a mirror. Instead of showing what is actually happening, it shows a distorted view of whoever looks at it. The Sins are immune to this, and for good reason.

This mirrored ceiling creates an emotional response, whether it's being looked at or not. It can bring out the feeling of inferiority in a person, making them lose hope and second guess what they are doing until at some point they find themselves unable to move and end up being frozen solid.

Irina
@kyoka @Doughnut "... And so it begins."
"Ehehehe..."
Inferior. That was what she had always thought of when her entire existence came to mind. A condescending yet apt description if you wanted her opinion about it. She was always... inferior. The desperate climb to the top? Sure, you can get there... reach the peak. But once you're there, you realize that the climb isn't over. You grit your teeth when even before you look down on the others that you've left behind, your eyes bear witness to another, much more menacing mountain.

And then she starts climbing again.

With a sigh, Irina moved to stand up. This whole time waiting she had been sitting with her head to her knees as she loosely hugged them and her back had been pressed against the wall of ice. She felt nothing from it. Not the cold contained in the room. The highs and lows of temperature just never bothered her; it never registered to her body that the fire burned or that the ice froze. Only the pain that came with it was what came to.

She turned around and looked to her reflection. She didn't look any different than she had hundreds if years ago, and when she did change something in her appearance it had been minor. The more major differences had been about six hundreds years ago. Her hair had never been braided and was instead loose to freely whip about in the wind... Or had it been in a ponytail? Had it only reached her shoulders?

...

It had been so long that she had forgotten how she had looked like during the early years of her journey. Like she was losing her identity the longer she drew breath... No. That was not the case. While she could have been taller or shorter then, or whether she was a redhead or a brunette, that mattered not to Envy. What mattered was what stayed the same. What had always clung to her being since the days gone past. The envy that she already had on her. A trait that now defined her as the embodiment of that sin.

This room... the ice. They do nothing to her and her siblings. They only whispered to those that opposed the Sins in one way or another. They presented the victim's inner thoughts of inferiority. It showed them or spoke to them the underlying envy that they had. What could be the smallest of embers could be fanned to form a roaring fire within them that overwhelmed their minds. And then, while their inner beings burned, their bodies froze. Unable to take action due to the overflowing emotions that would run through them.

... The ice showed her nothing but her reflection. Yet regardless it would be enough. Irina stared at herself. Her existence was enough to remind her of everything she had gone through-- all the festering resentment that she kept in the confines of her thoughts. This was Envy. A Sin that destroyed others just as easily as it could destroy itself.

A most self destructive sin.

With a sigh, she turned around and crossed her arms over her armored chest. Her eyes first lingered to Yasmayn, a fellow Sin that accompanied her in the redhead's domain; and then to the faint glow of her lance as the living weapon seeped into the ground like it were water and protectively moved around Gluttony. To the redhead it appeared as a glowing light, but to others it was an almost unnoticeable shadow on the floor. Lady Pride, who was at the moment combating Orpheus, had ordered the two to group together. Irina was fine with it, for the most part.

The trouble would come to finding out if she and Yasmayn could work together as a team. There was also the fact that Irina feared for her sister. She never seemed to be the type to fight, and very soon they would face off against one of the Four Horsemen. It mattered not to Irina whether the four lived up to their name as Executioners. They were not to be understimated. From the beginning she wouldn't hold back. She couldn't play around and pull her punches. She had made that mistake back in Aligheri.

Not here.

Yasmayn will be safe and Irina will utterly decimate her opponent.

Festering Resentment

Noire wanted nothing more than to prove herself to her siblings, and the biggest chance came when the arrived at the tower. Each of her siblings went on ahead, her dearest Father waging war with Pride, the one who betrayed him in the first place. Noire did not fear for her Father though. She was more than confident in his strength, and he was so kind to simply give it to his beloved. Truly, there was no better outcome.

She had watched as her siblings entered the rooms, and she herself would soon find that her room too was certainly a place she could grow to love.

The room was cold, but not the superficial type of cold. Yes, everything was ice, but surprisingly, it wasn't cold at all. No, the chill was from something else, and Noire could only expect that it came from either one of the two Sins standing before her. After all, this was their domain. It was only natural. "My. It's so wonderfully beautiful in here. It reminds me of Seracier." she said before thickening the air. She didn't expect them to feel a change in pressure though; this was their base, and they weren't just mere humans or lambs for sacrifice either. They were Sins.

"There's no need for greetings. Shall we begin?" she asked, a smile forming on her face. Not a moment later, Noire snapped her fingers, several bubbles of toxic air at her disposal flying straight towards the general direction of the two Sins. She drew her sword, swiftly covering the distance between her and Irina as she aimed a slash at the redhead's throat.

THE VORACIOUS ONE
The horsemen arrival in the Tower of Babylon had not come as a surprise. With Freya’s mission having been a success, it had been only a matter of time before the Black God launched an attack. So, the sins had been recalled to the tower and split into four groups that would combat the four horsemen whilst Pride handled Orpheus. Though it would have been nice to see her creator again and show how much better they were since breaking away from his grasp, she would have to settle with showing her, technically, younger and less independent siblings their place on the totem pole. She’d trust in Pride to once again show Orpheus that the sins was his biggest mistake.

For now, she would fight by Irina’s side and if fate allowed it, finish in time to see the brawl between Pride and Orpheus. Not only would it be a sight to behold once again, but it would also be a clear indication to her sister that she was improving and becoming worthy of her title. She had already undergone development underneath Nassor and though her evolution was not complete, this would be a good way to see where she stood now.

Yasmayn looks over at Irina and smiles. She was lucky to have been paired with her favorite sister after Pride and since the demise of Hael. She knew that they could work together as they had done so during the Alighieri fiasco. However, she would not be baggage like that time. It would be detrimental to Irina if she had to defend her and so, she would show her that she didn’t need to worry so much about gluttony. Her growth was a lot more than just losing pigmentation in her hair and eyes.

She shifts her gaze to the door as a horseman enters. She can not identify which horseman it was, but she didn’t doubt that she would find out soon enough. Yasmayn does not move, simply stares at the horseman for a moment and nodding her head. Pleasantries would not be exchanged as she agreed with the lady. There’s no reason to exchange greetings. And the fights gets underway several moments later.

Yasmayn grins at the woman’s first offensive maneuver, backpedaling just a bit before devouring the air bubbles sent her way and nothing more. She turns on her heel, whirling around to face the woman and Irina. And, confident that Irina would move, she sends those toxic bubbles right back at the woman whilst she’s occupied with Irina.

The clash had definitely begun.

@kyoka @Doughnut "... And so it begins."

The wait hadn't been cumbersome for either of the sins in the room of Invidia. A horsemen had walked into her little world, and what a pretty little thing she was. A fair maiden who while visually unassuming could hide the abilities capable of felling Irina... Doubtful. Her eyes alone presented inexperience. She had not the history to carry her to victory like the redhead had. Come what may, but the Sin was already at a great advantage.

A field that she could command, an ally to assist her, the knowledge cultivated through a thousand years of trial and error to name just a few. And her foe was eager to start, sending in orb shaped projectiles towards her and Yasmayn's way. Irina's emerald eyes shined and she couldn't help but grin. An interesting power. If it was anything to go by, then this girl was Pestilence--plague and disease were this one's specialty.

Fitting. She would rid Sium of this 'disease'. She liked the sound of that. She reined in on her arrogance. A veteran like Envy could still fall to neophytes should she make the wrong move. She tapped the ground with her foot, and the room around them glowed green. With the area's natural ability to give rise to envy, using her own power would enhance it. She will see just how long until her thoughts would be 'plagued' by incompetence.

The redhead's fingers twitched, and the demon lance that had sunk into the ground prior to the battle spread out into multiple shadows that swam along the ground and surrounded the Horseman, growing larger before breaching out. The lance and its copies stretched and grew rapidly, intending to skewer the girl where she stood.

And while Yasmayn had moved to intercept the bubbles Pestilence had created--deflecting it right back even-- Irina brandished her halberd, sheathing it in her sinister aura and threw it straight at her target. The weapon whistled as it spun in the air, the blade aimed to strike right to the brat's forehead to split it in two.

While Irina's body prepared to fight, she stayed in place. She wanted to see how the girl would do under this much pressure. Immediately Envy felt much more confident watching Yasmayn fight. Her little sister had improved. If only she could congratulate her at the moment.

Festering Resentment

Noire had found it quite fun that her opponents were putting up a fight. After all, it would be simply annoying if she had been matched with the so-called "friendly sins". It seems that not all Sins were as friendly as she'd heard them to be. All the more reason they had to be put down for the sake of the Black God.

The smaller of the two Sins had swallowed up her air bombs, deflecting them back towards Noire, who responded in kind by meeting those bombs with her own, the meeting of two different pressurized air packages pushing her slightly back, the spikes in the ground jutting out, going right through her leg and arm as she passed. The wounds were already healing as Noire rolled to the side, ducking under the spinning halberd.

Not stopping there, she lunged towards the red-haired one again, the wind gliding in her stride as she aimed a thrust towards the redhead's abdomen. No doubt the woman in front of her was strong, no, maybe even stronger. And though while she was still the physical weakest of the four, she had the confidence that she had enough strength to back up her title as the Horseman of Pestilence. Possibly. There really was only one way to find out, as she followed up that thrust with another towards her side.

THE VORACIOUS ONE
Yasmayn is disappointed that her attack does not land, but she expected as much to happen. She could rest assured though that the horseman did use sillage based attacks and thus, she could be of some use. However, she could not bank on the invader using it again now that she knew that it would be sent right back at her. And she definitely wasn’t about to get in the middle of a melee fight.

Though she did not plan on getting in the middle of the scuffle, Yasmayn still wanted to be helpful. And with no impressive physical capabilities, she settled on devouring the surrounding ice. It would have been nice to eat the icicles that loomed above as they were already fancy daggers, but she would have to settle with expelling a block of ice at the horseman.

As her sister and the horseman fought, the embodiment of gluttony would go about her own way of assisting Envy. Devouring ice as to attack the horseman, staying out of the way as to not become the unattended victim of friendly fire and keeping her wits about her in case the horseman changed her course of action.

(I am assuming that there’s bits of ice in our frozen room since there are icicles on the ceiling. Lemme know if any changes are needed.)

@kyoka @Doughnut "... And so it begins."

With watchful eyes, Irina observed the Horseman avoid her lance's attacks. A few had managed to land, but her wounds were quick to begin regenerating. She was fast, just not enough to avoid everything the redhead had sent; either she was taking this battle too lightly or she simply wasn't swift enough to dodge successfully. To compensate for the injuries she had her regenerative properties to fall back on. It was time to test a few things.

Irina had nearly no doubt that physically she was superior to her foe, however if she were to tire the girl out while she continued to preserve her energy, then that would be ideal. She also had to avoid getting hurt as Pestilence could possibly contaminate the air and affect open wounds. She needed to bombard her with attacks to see how long until the horseman's healing would fail her as well as damage her on multiple areas to see how well she could heal when she was injured all along her person.

Another interesting thing to note was the fact that she had gone to protect herself from her toxic projectiles that Yasmayn deflected back at her. That could mean that Pestilence could still be affected by her own attacks; perhaps not exactly by the toxins themselves, but the explosive force behind her attacks was what she had to be wary of. That was something Envy will commit to memory. Yasmayn took initiative and used the icicles around their arena to their advantage. It was resourceful thinking, and it was something Irina could help out with considerably.

Pestilence was fast approaching Irina's position with a thrust aimed at her abdomen. Irina reacted quickly, dodging the first thrust by sidestepping away and then taking to the air when a followup was made at her side. The moment she stayed afloat near the ceiling using her wings was when her halberd returned to her hand. With a small gesture of her hand her lances once again receded into the ground to move to surround the Horseman and thrust out from the ground to impale her torso.

While this occurred, Envy slashed at the ceiling and caused a number of icicles of large sizes to fall down. Resuming her assault, she quickly descended down and punched one of the largest of the ice to sending it falling faster than the rest, and used it as cover before she would go to perform a vertical slash some seconds after.

Festering Resentment

A small huff escaped Noire's lips. She should have expected this. After all, flying wasn't a trait that was limited to Noire herself. Lots of things in Sium could fly. But that in itself was fine. She hadn't forgotten about the smaller Sin, who sent a block of ice in her direction. Noire met the attack in kind with several blades of air, slicing it into smaller shards of ice, before sending it back. She fully expected the Sin to swallow it up again in the same fashion she did to her air bombs, but at the very least the process could buy her a few seconds to deal with the other, more troublesome Sin.

Her attention turned back towards the said Sin, who hovered in the air with her wings. Spreading her own wings as well, she took to the air as Irina made a small gesture, the spikes coming back from the ground. That would be something she would keep in the back of her mind for...later. Knowing the opponent's attack patterns would help her in the fight as it dragged on. This was the Sins' domain, and she could already feel herself weakening. Was it from the constant tugging of inferiority? Perhaps.

There was no time to get distracted and feel down about herself. The Sin was already on the offensive, the icicles crashing down from above. Noire weaved her way around the icicles, the slight hesitation from earlier causing the first two icicles piercing her shoulder. Noire feinted a swing at the Sin's shoulder, a blast of air behind the feint with the intention of knocking the Sin down before slashing down the other shoulder. This needed to end quickly, Noire thought, as it soon became apparent that it was dangerous the longer the battle went on.

THE VORACIOUS ONE
Intense isn’t exactly the word Yasmayn would use to describe her portion of the fight. The horseman is far too concerned with trying to defeat her elder sister that she, the embodiment of gluttony, was a second thought. Though she felt just an ounce of disappointment, the sin knew that she was awfully lucky. She could not tango with the horseman, so her continued focus on Irina was good for her wellbeing. She would busy herself with playing support.

And support she did. She gobbled up the shards of ice that had been redirected at her as the horseman ascended to meet Irina. The icicles recently attached to the ceiling, descended, courtesy of Envy. She made note of it, she would gobble them up later. But now, she’d expel the ice shards already trapped within the depths of her infinite digestive system.

Eyes locked on the pair above, she watched the clash between her sister and the horseman. And, once again, the contents of her stomach is launched their way. She is not worried about Envy. Never is. She was the second best sin next to Pride, though she would never openly admit that to her. She does not expect her attack to land, but a short distraction was beneficial to her sister.
