Practice of Sedition
In a world built upon a foundation of conflict, the past year has been notably violent. As Crux Fidelis, the Crusaders and ruling faction of Sium, suffer heavy losses from a particularly bloody Aphelion, other factions are emboldened to take action. Despite being allies, Weltschmerz's ambitious and duplicitous nature sees them taking bigger risks which threaten to break their alliance. All the while, Apocrypha continues to gain public sympathy and support while the Black Sun Cabal and Poena Damni continue to wreak havoc. As Sium races towards yet another conflict, it’s evident that a war lurks on the horizon.

”WHAT THE F-“ Morgan clucked her tongue as his body slammed into the side of a building, shaking her head in amused disapproval. ”There’s children around here, Gavin,” she cooed, picking his nearly unconscious form up and tossing it far into the air. ”You really ought to watch your mouth,” the criticism came as she caught him in a blue tentacle originating from the small of her back, wrapped tightly around his body as she brought his face close enough to hers that she could feel his ragged breathing. Broken rib, probably. I mean, at least. Le Fay laughed inwardly, and with a shrug she tossed him into a stack of crates as the tentacle vanished. It hadn’t been her intention to become a violent spectacle that night, but she would by lying if she didn’t admit to being perfectly aware of the effect alcohol had on her. Anyone with a good understanding of who she was as a person could already call her more than a bit unstable–a trait that became exemplified when her inhibitions were destroyed with liquor.

What had he done again? Morgan regarded the broken stack of crates with a quizzical expression before deciding that she didn’t remember. She giggled to herself, a rather absurd sight standing in the middle of a side street in the city. It was cold, but she was hot, and her pale face was flushed red. Le Fay had downed 3 more shots before exiting the bar just moments before, and she wasn’t really sure if they had completely hit her yet. She found her alcohol tolerance to be variable but was pleasantly surprised when her stride and vision were disoriented. If she could pump the breaks on this exact level of drunkenness she’d be pleased. Looking around, the door to the establishment she had been in had been quietly closed–probably to give the message that she wasn’t welcomed back in without garnering too much of her attention. Morgan momentarily contemplated forcing the door open and walking back in just to make a point, but ultimately decided against it.

Still, it wasn’t enough to just walk away. Gathering a fire ball in her hand, she threw it at the door, and when it didn’t break through and she was unsatisfied, she did it again. The second time it burned through and she decided that was fine enough, even though in reality it hadn’t really accomplished much of anything. This is a stupid city, she thought, remembering begrudgingly that she had only come here to chase a lead that had ultimately gone cold. Although she was officially assigned to Pluviall, the steadfast delineations of the regions were sometimes inadequate, and she had wanted to find some more evidence before reporting it to the higher ups–evidence she hadn’t found. She looked slyly out of the corner of her eye at uh…Gary’s? Body? Would she get in trouble for this? The thought filled her with dread. Maybe no one would find out. And he was still alive so. Brownie points+, right? In that moment she realized she had been standing in the exact same spot for a while, but without any place to go she laid out on her back in the street in the snow, staring into the sky that was spinning in one, big, never ending circle.

Lavinia simply wanted to explore the region, not get caught up by random fights that strangers were picking. But between this and whatever Blackbird seemed to get himself into, she would probably enjoy the former. It was at least better than hearing the ear-piercing scream of the damned thrown into Alptraum. Most unpleasant.

The blonde clearly appeared drunk and had left the bar she had visited only moments after her, it seemed. And when she lay down staring at the stars in the sky, Lavinia could only curiously wonder about what sort of fate the woman had in store. It was interesting nonetheless, and so with a brisk step and a smile on her face she approached the blonde.

"A wonderful sight we have this evening, don't we?" she asked, crouching beside the woman. "Wouldn't it be wonderful if they view was shared with others?"

Morgan heard the stranger approaching before she saw her, but honestly couldn’t be bothered to lift her head and see who it was. The world was fuzzy, disorienting, and in the quiet of the dark spinning slowly in a way that was somehow calming. Le Fay had often wondered about her propensity for alcoholism. For those few intoxicated hours the world didn’t seem so psychologically frightening. Her mind was quiet. She didn’t have to spend precious moments worrying about how others thought of her, and she made decisions based off instinctual drives. It wasn’t all so complicated. The consequences were far away, obscured behind the cloud of depressed inhibitions that had her laying in the snow, uncaring as water wept through her clothes and chilled her skin.

The woman’s face lit up as her vision into the stars was obscured by a pale face framed in dark hair. What thoughts were hidden behind those violet eyes? As long as they stared down at her, Le Fay didn’t have to wonder.

”Lavinia,” she cooed, feeling each syllable as she said it.

Another side effect of alcohol was that everyone was Morgan’s friend–for better or for worse. Morgan smiled warmly, a bright figure ever-so slightly separated from the dazzling snow by her halo of long, blonde hair. She hadn’t caught each word Lavinia spoke, but she felt she knew her meaning.

In these moments of drunkenness, she felt she had known the entire world as her lifelong friends, companions in the dark. Morgan patted the ground next to her softly, almost as if to not disturb the snow that had fallen there.

”Won’t you lay with me?”

Lavinia smiled brightly at the blonde, happy to see that at least someone knew her name. "Huhu. Of course I'll lay with you, dearie." she said before laying herself down next to the unnamed blonde. "You already know my name, but I have yet to know yours." she said as she looked up into the cloudless sky, the stars visible. Ah, was it fate that had brought them together? Quite possibly. It didn't exactly matter to Lavinia at the moment. She had quite accidentally found herself a wonderful new friend.

"The stars may have aligned for us to meet in this way. As one who tells fortunes, I think it's quite fortunate that we stare at the sky. It's so very vast and mysterious, isn't it?" she asked, beaming brightly at Morgan. She wasn't drunk, no, but the fact that her new friend was extremely happy simply made Lavinia happy as well.

For fuck's sake, not again. Griffith knew exactly why Morgan was in Seracier and it only served to irritate him just the more. Why in the world was she getting drunk on duty in a region other than the one that she was actually assigned to? Now this was just giving him more work while also trying to cover for her so she does not lose her job and to be quite honest, he was afraid what would happen if she had too much free time. Don't get him wrong, he loved working with her and genuinely thinks of her as a friend, but god damn she could be such a handful, like now.

To combat the cold, he wore a heavy white jacket with the Crux symbol on the back of it though it made him blend in with the snow. Did he ever hate Seraicer; it's a cold, barren place filled with not an ounce of joy.

He found the bar quickly, but instead of going inside to find her completely plastered, he found her laying outside of the drinking establishment in the snow with some other woman. "Morgan?" He approached her and sure enough, it was actually her. Yup, she was sloshed and there was no way of getting her back to her regular self. "Come on Morgan, it's time to go home." He stated, offering a hand to her.

He just noticed Lavina and bowed his head apologetically. "Thank you for watching over her. I am so sorry for any inconvenience she may have caused you."

Morgan was glad for the company as the world continued to descend into madness for her senses. It was like there was a glass pane separating her from reality, and her stagnant body was probably making it worse. What did she say? Fortune teller? Morgan wondered silently if Lavinia was actually a fortune teller or if she was one of those cons that took people's money based off of pointless generalizations and compliments. Did she care?

Morgan didn't really hear what Lavinia was saying as she lived mostly in her own world, even as she tried to steady her brain some. It wasn't for lack of trying, at least. She suddenly sat straight up, staring blankly and perhaps drowsily towards the distance with a soft "Fuck."

She knew that brain. Well, Morgan knew a lot of brains but she especially knew that one. He just had to be nearby and she could at least sense him, and he didn't seem very happy. Why was he mad? She was just doing her job. Well, she had been. Morgan didn't really have a great idea of how she ended up laying in the snow but that wasn't important.

She laid down again, realizing that she was pretty cold now but didn't have the wherewithal to do anything about it. Morgan giggled out loud. She was a valor for fucks sake and she was going to freeze to death because she was too drunk to fix her body temperature. Or was that an exaggeration? Was that a bird over there?

Normally she would have been happy to see Griffith, but his obvious displeasure at seeing her put her off pretty quickly. Her lips pursed and her eyebrows furrowed as she turned on her side. "No!" Morgan wrapped her arms around Lavinia's waist, burying her face against the (relative) strangers body in refusal.

She was both painfully aware of how childish she was being and completely unable to stop.

Lavinia smiled at the new face. "Good evening. Is she an acquaintance of yours?" she asked as Griffith approached the two. Judging from the fact that the both of them wore white, it was more than likely the two were allied with the Cross. There wasn't anything she had done wrong to garner their attention though, so perhaps they were simply deployed here. What an interesting turn of events.

Still smiling, Lavinia waved a hand of dismissal. "Oh no, not at all! In fact, Morgan, was it? Yes, Morgan was quite wonderful company in the short amount of time we spent together." she explained as she sat up to talk to the newcomer. Morgan suddenly, and quite defiantly, refused to go along with Griffith which caused Lavinia to simply frown.

"I am aware she is a little under the weather, but she isn't doing anyone any harm by being like this." she said, petting Morgan's hair. "Perhaps let her stay a while longer? The stars are quite beautiful tonight." she said, winking at the last part. "Why don't you join us, er..." she said, frowning at the lack of a name to attribute to the face. "...Kind sir? After all, the saying is that three is a party."

At least the woman that Morgan was cuddling with was actually a kind person and not taking advantage of her drunkenness. That was a mess he really did not want to get caught up in and one that he certainly did not want to clean up, but it looked like this woman did not have any ill intentions so there was some weight lifted from his shoulders. Despite still being relatively upset with Morgan, he was still able to flash a friendly smile to the stranger. "Still, I apologize for my partner's actions." It was then he realized that partner could easily be misconstrued and quickly followed up with, "Not partner in the other sense, but I mean partner in the business sense of the word."

That smile went away as soon as he heard Morgan's childish response and he sighed very heavily and his rabbit ears drooped, but before he could say anything, the woman she was accompanying with spoke up for the miss on a bender. True, she was not harming anyone right now though that could easily change if something set her off. It was probably the safer option to just let her ride it out wait, but she was more likely to die from freezing before she could get sober."It's Griffith, Griffith Vale. And I thought it was 'three's a crowd?'" He responded to the woman though she had yet given him her name as well.

Griffith took off his warm jacket and bent down to wrap it around Morgan's shoulders."What in the world would you do without me?" He chuckled as he placed it on her though now he was left with another problem; he was now exposed to the elements. Well, it really was not much of a problem for him. He partially transformed his body enough to allow for large patches of black fur to grow around his body, with some poking out of the corners of his collar. He sat there in the snow with them, not exactly sure what to say in this situation and that made him just shift around as he sat in the cold snow.

Morgan was happy to have someone on her side, and as Lavinia pet her hair her features softened and she cooed quietly. She really wasn't trying to cause trouble, it just seemed as if trouble had been following her around since time immemorial. She couldn't help but giggle as Lavinia referred to her current intoxication as feeling under the weather, and the rosiness of her cheeks only enhanced her momentary childlike appearance. She wondered what it was like being taken care of, and realized with just slightly peering eyes and sadness that she wasn't exactly sure. Le Fay had, of course, had allies and comrades and even as a young child caretakers, but that wasn't exactly the same as having parents or loved ones.

Jesus she was needy. But what could be done about that, anyway?

Morgan laughed loudly as Griffith stumbled over the whole notion of a 'partner', "Can you imagine? Griffith and Morgan, partners and lovers." she joked, perhaps badly. The idea was just so ludicrous to her, although she didn't exactly know why. She was fond of him, certainly, but he was like, still a lilun' in comparison to her age, and it was obvious he had a hard time handling some of her more wild endeavors. Still, she was grateful for the warmth of his jacket, and as she clutched it closer around her shoulders she thanked him by sticking her tongue out in his direction teasingly with the glimmer of foolishness bright in her crystalline eyes.

"You don't have to keep apologizing for me, you know," she added rather somberly, realizing now with unease that she may have been being more of a burden than she was worth. Morgan tucked her nose into the collar of the jacket with glossy eyes that seemed like they wanted to block out the entire realm of reality. Such depressing realizations were well within the range of Morgan's volatile personality, but under the current circumstances seemed a bit too much to try and think about now. So, naturally, her mind went reeling, and her stomach followed.

Throwing the jacket off as though to save it, Morgan flipped onto her hands and knees with surprising agility and promptly vomited.

Lavinia winked at Griffith. "Well Griffith. Party, crowd, et cetera... In the end they all lead to a similar meaning, I would think. Huhuhu." Her gentle gaze was quickly focused back onto Morgan who laughed heartily at Griffith's "joke". She giggled and then replied, "Well, lovers or not, there certainly is still love present even between friends. The fact that the two of you care about each others' safety....That's love in its own way, is it not?"

Still smiling, Lavinia stood and caught the jacket as it flew off, carefully folding it and gently patting Morgan's back. "There there. I can grab you some water if you need it." she offered, handing the folded jacket back to her. Turning towards Griffith, she asked, "Is her place nearby here? If she passes out while stargazing, it would be best to bring her home."
