Kanzaki Souma - Ensemble Stars
As a Part-Time hero, he can normally be seen carrying heroic weapons. He has a few sets of clacker balls, a metal baseball bat, ropes, a cutlass, and a pocket knife.
If he isn't doing his hero gig for the day then he will have a few books, a book bag, and a net with him.
His nature as a partial demon granted him a few passive abilities that most demons typically have. All these abilities are within the physical nature. He is able to run significantly faster than most humans, he is a great deal stronger than them, is more durable, and can jump up to a story high. Another passive ability he has is his slowed aging process.
He inherited the ability to be reborn from his father's phoenix demon side. Upon death, his body will erupt into a flame and scorch him until he is nothing but ash. A woundless body emerges from the ashes and he is able to continue as if he was never hurt at all. He is unable to be reborn if his head is cut off.
The mixture of his mother's Sillage along with his father's demonic abilities granted him some of the amplified and inherited powers of his mother. These demonic powers grant him the ability to alter a few specific physics based powers. He has the ability to control the velocity and alter the friction of objects.
Velocity: With this, he is able to change the velocity of any moving object. He is able to speed up a moving object, living or not, up to 1/1000th of the speed of light simply by touching it while it is in motion. He can also change the direction of any object by touching it. An example of this would be a baseball launched at his face would have the direction altered the second any particle makes contact with his face, launching it in a different direction entirely. He would obtain a minimal amount of damage from this, but has to be focused on the object in order to change the direction of it. If something catches him off guard then he is screwed.
For a brief second, Reinier would be able to make sure his entire body would be able to launch anything off of it in the opposite direction it was travelling.
He is unable to change the velocity of attacks made with holy weapons.
Friction: He is able to remove the friction from any surface up to 1 mile from himself in all directions. The amount of time this stays active shortens when the distance gets longer. The full mile would make the friction removed for five seconds at most.
Reinier formed a pact with the demonic, skeletal remains of a blood dragon in hopes of gaining it's size. He gained the strength and flight of the dragon, but must activate his blood dragon abilities in order to do so. In order to activate the abilities, he must cut a pentagram into his skin. The pentagram will start to glow a darkened red then heal. After the glowing stops then the top of a dragon-like skull will appear over his head that is connected down his spine to a bone tail. His arms are not connected to the spine, but do gain dragon-like bones running down them from his shoulder to his hands, with his hands now receiving claws. He also gains bone-like wings on his back that allow him to fly.
The dragon-like form gives him the same type of strength he'd have if he were the size of the original dragon, allowing him to carry up to 7 tons.
Any wound he obtains in this form has the ability to draw out his own blood and force it to multiply and crystallize in order to form weapons.
He can only stay in this form for 5 minutes and will suffer extreme exhaustion after using it.
He formed a contract with his brother, giving him some of the demonic powers they inherited from their father. Because of this he is able to create and shape flames to be whatever form he wishes with some minor limits. He can only construct flame objects for a few seconds at a time, and the objects can never be larger than he is. They also can't go very far from him, exploding when they are ten feet away from him. The explosion is small and easy to dodge, but will heat up anything the flames of the explosion touch, scorching it to ash or melting them. Holy objects are unaffected by this.
Reinier feels he doesn't know enough about demons, their history, or anything like that in order to classify himself as one. He often ignores his demon side simply because he doesn't know how to react to it.
It is sometimes seen that he can be obsessive over trivial things. Ideas, items, people, and anything he can get his hands on will constantly hold a special place in his heart. It's pretty easy for him to get on the good sides of others with how social he is, and he tends to keep his obsessions quiet until they are brought up in general. He gets attached to anything and everything. Sadly, being attached to everything comes with a downside. He can't have everything. In order to cope with not being able to have it all he aggressively writes about it in his diary, that he absolutely has to keep with him at all times. His writings can be anywhere from aggressive to pornographic to straight up psychotic. He feels it is a healthy way to express himself.
Reinier will stop at nothing to be the good guy, but isn't anywhere smart enough to come up with plans to show it. He will often get confused over his own plans and will result to punching his way out of trouble. His inability to properly function doesn't make him any less of a person, though. He completely hates being looked down on.
The main thing he is insecure about would be his appearance. He knows he looks young. He knows he's small. He knows. Reinier initially began drinking and smoking to prove how much of an adult he was, but those two habits both delved deep into addiction territories. He has since quit his drinking, so now he smokes an obscene amount. The lack of alcohol in his system makes him a bit more aggressive than one normally would. He took no longer drinking much worse than a normal alcoholic would. It slightly affected his personality, but made him more productive than was before. It seemed fair.
He would love to find the perfect side-kick and tries to recruit almost everyone he speaks to. He won't push if the person really doesn't want to join, but he insists they do.
Reinier loved collecting things. He would always go out of his way to find multiples of a specific type of object and place them on display, usually just lying around the floor for him to see whenever. He never had one collection for too long, and usually ignored them after a short amount of time. His brother would throw away his collected objects, but that was fine. He’d already stopped caring for them at that point.
His collections made him feel like he was doing something special. He’d push love and a desire to protect these objects with his life while he was still interested in them, eventually trying to collect people in the form of friendship. He’d become unusually attached to everything around him, vowing to protect all of them with his life on the line. It didn’t take long for him to start to love the feeling of being everybody’s hero. He decided to put time aside from collecting to being a hero. He was his town’s protector, the hero they needed and deserved, and the one who was going to save everyone.
After a few months his desire to be a hero expanded to more than just his town. He named himself the protector of his region, and within weeks of that he knew he could conquer the world. Reinier kept a hero diary for all his successful conquests, and even made sure to put a positive spin on his not so successful ones in order to make them seem like a success. Being a hero was a hard thing to do all the time, so he took days off very often. Ignoring crime was pretty messed up, but Reinier had enough emotional unavailability to pull it off. Sometimes he just really needed to invest in himself. Heroes could be driven to insanity if they were on the job all the time, and he knew that.
On one of Reinier’s heroic adventures he had a temporary sidekick that really sold him on a group that he was told had similar ideals as him. He promptly joined, but saw he wasn’t strong enough to protect against the types of evil they were fighting against. Reinier needed more power and QUICK. He made a contract with a demon, selling his soul after death for more power. It was weird considering he was half demon himself, but his half human side made the contract work.
He was briefly a director for apocrypha, but went missing for an undetermined amount of time. The moment in time was so brief that it would be easier to day it didn't happen. When he came back to the organization he decided that it was best to not keep a hero in one specific location.
Not too long after coming back to the group, he and his brother encountered an enemy that just wouldn’t die. He convinced his brother to form a contract with him, giving up his drinking to form it. It was a tough price too pay, but two times the explosive power seemed to be the trick to fight the monster to it’s death.
He spent a good majority of the next few years training with his brother and generally being the hero the world needed no matter what. He wasn’t going to get complacent in the seemingly peaceful time. He continued training for an up and coming battle. Reinier knew there was always room for improvement in every aspect of his life.
