Osamu Dazai - Bungou Stray Dogs
Partially blind in his right eye, but it doesn't really affect him much since he's trained to see more from his left eye.
Blood Crescent - A gun that carries special types of bullets. Wounds caused by the bullets heal much slower than normal and cause the opponent to bleed out more. Klaus can alternatively opt to splash some of his own blood onto the gun to enhance the power of the bullets.
Nightless Rose - Mechanical gauntlets that carry several rounds of bullets within them. The gauntlets are attuned to every movement Klaus makes with his hands, allowing Klaus the option to punch and fire explosive rounds. The rounds have enough force to either push the enemy back or blast Klaus away from the immediate area.
Weaver Stance - Specialized shoes that allow Klaus to move faster than a normal human. They can also allow Klaus to "weave" a tripwire or a small net around his opponents, hence the name of the footwear. When not used to make him fast or create traps, his kicks are generally harder due to the weight of the enhancements.
ETC Capsules - As standard soldier procedure, Klaus will always carry at least two ETC capsules for use in battle. If he takes two at once, he runs the risk of actually killing himself.
Tranquilizer Darts - A small contraption that Klaus wears on his right wrist. He can load tranquilizer darts on the contraption and fire them accurately and quickly at an intended target. Sleeping effects last depending on the target hit (OOC permission)
Silver Tracker's Knife - A durable silver knife. It still has a slight brown tint from when he killed his father.
Martial Tome - Since he was young, Klaus has had to fend for himself, resulting in a vast amount of knowledge and aptitude in hand-to-hand combat. He can hold his own against a few opponents, but more than 4 ends up being somewhat tiring for him, and he struggles a bit. He's also proficient in weaving his gun in the heat of combat, allowing for some pretty sick combos.
Comical, yet calm and collected. Klaus values work above all else, and appreciates when his work is simple and cut out for him. He is known to be a harsh teacher for the ephemera he handles, but it is done so with the utmost care. He keeps trying to ask his coworkers out on dates but to no avail.
Klaus was born relatively quietly in the slums of Ravanar to a drug-addicted mother and an alcoholic father. Not long after his birth, his mother succumbed to her infections and he was left with only his father. It wasn't that he wanted to try and patch things up with him, he just never had the chance to. His father was good for nothing, often lounging around in the old shack and taking in his alcohol. When his father wasn't scrounging up alcohol, he beat Klaus into submission for not trying to help pay the bills. Klaus often celebrated his birthday in secret, sneaking out to find something fun to do or explore.
Much of that changed when he turned seven. His father had become completely drunk, unable to discern Klaus from his deceased wife. He beat the child until he cried, and when he did, he kicked Klaus's right eye to shut him up. As he lay on the floor, Klaus's father went to grab another bottle, and Klaus, slightly dazed, had picked up the tracking knife that his father clumsily left on the ground. Half his vision blurred by kick and yet to recover, he slowly got up and stumbled to his father, ending the matter swiftly by slashing the knife through the man's side. Klaus's father died a day later from the blood loss.
It wasn't a waste of a childhood though. Klaus found a mentor in a mysterious man named Eustace Friedrich, a hired mercenary. Eustace treated him as much as he could as if Klaus was his own son. While he was at it, he taught Klaus the fundamentals of self-defense, gradually teaching Klaus all the knowledge he had on hand-to-hand combat and firearm usage. Klaus grew with this knowledge and became a high ranking mercenary in his early teens.
On a fateful day, Klaus and Eustace were sent with another group of mercenaries to Gaothaire in order to stop what seemed at first to be an underground mafia plot. Travelling to the depths, they were careful enough with every movement so as to not give their position away to the enemy.
They weren't careful enough though. In what almost seemed to be a flash, Eustace was shot in the back of the head by one of the team members, and before Klaus could properly dodge, a bullet found its way into his shoulder. Realizing that the assassination effort failed, the contractor took to his own hands to try and eliminate the threat.
Despite his should wound though, Klaus was not the type to stop. And so when he was rushed by the onslaught, he put everything Eustace had taught him to work. And once they were all defeated, he gave Eustace a proper burial before heading back to the surface, his clothes bloodstained, and his vision as dark and blurry as his right eye. As he slumped near an alleyway, now with no family left to turn to, a member of the dubious Weltschmerz faction approached him. The member was no more than a passing face for Klaus, but he was taken to their base regardless.
Honing his already well-trained physical capabilities, Klaus was assigned as a soldier, where he used the time there to train to become stronger and faster for his deceased mentor. After some time, Klaus was given his first Ephemera to handle. It went relatively well, and soon Klaus was assigned several more to handle.
And that's basically what he's up to now.
