Practice of Sedition
In a world built upon a foundation of conflict, the past year has been notably violent. As Crux Fidelis, the Crusaders and ruling faction of Sium, suffer heavy losses from a particularly bloody Aphelion, other factions are emboldened to take action. Despite being allies, Weltschmerz's ambitious and duplicitous nature sees them taking bigger risks which threaten to break their alliance. All the while, Apocrypha continues to gain public sympathy and support while the Black Sun Cabal and Poena Damni continue to wreak havoc. As Sium races towards yet another conflict, it’s evident that a war lurks on the horizon.

Sylvia has a small purple birthmark on the back of their right hand. It doesn't actually symbolize anything though, it's mostly a blot.
Elucidium - A long spear able to split itself and become more flexible via chains. When split, Elucidium acts more like a whip with a pointy tip. Other than that, it's a pretty regular spear. She found it ditched in a cave one time.
Explo~sion! - a skill she learned from Corvyx and honed with several other people. Much to Kalidas's dismay. With a snap of her fingers, Sylvia is able to create a small explosion in the air in a targeted direction. The explosions, in addition to doing some damage if someone is hit, pushes the person away if they're close enough. While it's not some grand explosion, it's enough for self-defense and maybe fireworks too.

Spirit Power - Sylvia is able to communicate with the dead and with that power comes some perks. She is able to will lesser ghosts/ghouls into being and command them to attack her enemies. The ghosts/ghouls can also be used defensively by summoning them to her side, blocking slightly weaker attacks. The ghosts will disappear after one use, so Sylvia will need to summon them back again.

Summon Grimnir - Since placed into Brenner's care, Sylvia's been able to summon Grimnir to her side whenever she wants. But because she preferred Grimnir in his horse form, she'd always just summon him as a horse since it's more convenient and also less walking. Besides, who needs walking when your best friend is a black horse with eight legs and four wings? Isn't he the cutest? Who cares if he's missing an eye anyways?

Elucidium's Mastery - Sylvia's had about 3 years of training using Elucidium as a weapon. So she's fairly proficient at it.

The best way to describe Sylvia is quirky. Once a shy little girl who took every opportunity to learn about her environment from her guardian and acting father, Brenner, a lot of Sylvia's current ideologies come from him, and so much of her personality resembles his out of respect for her long deceased guardian.

Yeah, she's a little loud, rude, and maybe violent with her constant need to kick those she regards with general disdain, but her intentions are, for the most part, good. She has a big heart and loves to explore the unknowns.
Sylvia's earliest memories were of the cold and drafty air that blew into their humble abode. They remembered the short smile that Their parents had on their faces before it quickly turned to despair. The small village that Sylvia had called home was ransacked by thieves, and quickly reduced to rubble. They didn't care though, all the townsfolk seemed to be fine and happy with themselves. Sylvia quite enjoyed their company, and for a while, the red-eyed child hung around a pile of rubble alone.

One day, a man found them playing alone near the rubble. When he asked the child who they were talking to, the child piped up, "My friends, my friends!" In confusion, he asked where Sylvia's friends were. "They're in front of me." they'd respond. Baffled, the man left the area, certain that the child was mentally scarred.

And indeed, Sylvia was, for they realized later in life that these "town residents" did not age. Distraught by the truth that they now had to accept, Sylvia began to wander. They wandered until their feet bled, and then they sat to rest.

Many had come and gone, asking Sylvia about their ability, even presenting them with an offering of an arm in order to talk to a dead king. There was, however, one in particular that Sylvia took an interest in. A man, who seemed to be as cursed as they approached Sylvia one day and took them in. Since then, they have developed a sort of give and take relationship; Sylvia's ability for their assured shelter and haven. And while they do wander still, Brenner was one who still had quite the impression on them.

In the span of five years, Sylvia seems to have somewhat matured at quite the fast rate. While Brenner was the one who most helped Sylvia become who she is now in the span of five years, certainly many others who had come to care for her in the same way had shaped her views as well. In particular, when Brenner died mysteriously, Sylvia initially hadn't realized he was dead, talking on ends with his ghost. It wasn't until she was sent to Lucius to continue her training did she realize she lost a parent again.

For the first few weeks of staying with the man, she spent her nights quietly crying to herself. How many more of those she cared for would be lost? How much longer could any of those she loved stay with her? She felt a weight of guilt at how little she could control anything in her reach and cursed her inability to do more.

As she sneaked out to explore Sium one day, she met with Corvyx Muse, an apparent Demon Knight from Apocrypha. Brenner had introduced her before, but never in detail, and when she met up with him, she tried to learn everything she could from him, despite his suffering. It was selfish, she knew, but for the sake of moving forward, she had to. Not too soon after she had moved on, she heard about Corvyx's death. She grieved for a bit, but knowing that death was an inevitable part of her life, she moved forward.

When asked what had happened and caused her to change in the past five years, Sylvia would simply answer with a smile. And a kick, of course, but only those close enough to track her growth know the grief she had dealt with in succession. It's accurate to say that from her experiences, she has grown as a person.
