Makisa Kurisu - Steins;Gate
With five years having gone by, it’s only natural that Theresa’s arsenal has expanded and improved significantly. With the success of the MDP, she has focused her on energy in crafting devices better suited for herself and the soldiers not initiated into the new program. Thusly so, she has completed Project Proto and started up a new one, Project ARMs which sees all inventions from her previous projects being used – though they have been improved.
With this project, the inventions can be seen as loadouts which allows the soldiers of Weltschmerz to equip their personal weapons with whatever loadout they want. Though, only three loadouts can be on any weapon, giving said weapon or item up to three abilities. All must be equipped with YHI, the core that supplies the ability for the other loadouts with the exception of EKHI.
YHI: An improved version of Root is now installed into every piece of magitek designed by Theresa. With a significantly better energy input and output, converting and absorbing the surrounding sillage is much faster and the usage of this sillage is more efficient. Thus, the core can run much longer than its obsolete version as it doesn’t use sillage needlessly. However, she cannot fix the mechanic that only allows the core to replenish or use sillage – so, it cannot do both at the same time still.
EKHI: In simple terms, EKHI is a miniature version of MDP, and the natural progression of Inaequalis, that has two forms – one being a disc-like device that is slightly bigger than the palm of Theresa’s hand and one that can be installed into weapons/items. Like the MDP, EKHI can weaken the amount of sillage in an area thus resulting in sillage users having less energy to draw upon. This has the effect of impacting devices installed with YHI as there’s less energy for the cores to draw into itself, however with other devices on hand, the need to use YHI’s capabilities is greatly diminished – especially when the soldier’s ETC is considered. EKHI affects a significantly smaller area than MDP as a natural result of being a smaller version of it, however it’s more efficient and thus, has a greater impact on sillage in the area.
SULIS: A loadout modeled after Innotatus. Thus, like its predecessor, SULIS is a loadout that projects a shield or barrier which strength is purely determined by how much energy the core is instructed to use. SULIS is purely a defensive core, though its capabilities have been expanded so that shield and barriers form are significantly larger than previously seen. And although it’s meant for defensive purposes, Theresa has noted that it can be used like a boundary thus preventing people from leaving the confines of the barrier whilst it can endure onslaught.
ÁINE: An offensive loadout with five variations in addition to its based form. This one harnesses the acquired sillage for more offensive measures, capable of converting said sillage into energy that can be expelled – it’s appearance depending upon the weapon/item its loaded on. Thus, the outputted energy can take the form of bullets or an arc that resemble that of the sword its thrown from. Beyond the base version, one can opt to have a loadout that converts the sillage into the following elements: water, fire, air, and lightning.
Ingratus: An old handgun made with strong material to withstand the loadouts equipped to it. The core has been replaced with the newer version of Root, and thus, is a lot more efficient than before. It has been loaded with AINE, both the base and fire version.
Innotatus: A small, watch device worn on Theresa’s wrist that has been loaded with EKHI and SULIS.
LATENS: Is a disc device about the size of Theresa’s palm. When active, it serves as camouflage thus making her undetectable by sight. Remains active for no longer than 8 hours as its powered by a battery instead of a core.
Other: Because magitek can become useless once EKHI or MDP is deployed, Theresa carries an array of conventional weapons that range from tranquilizers to bombs.
Hand-to-Hand Expert: Over the course of five years, Theresa has gone from proficient to an expert at hand-to-hand combat. Her extensive training with the security division has ensured that she had improved. Thus, combined with her devices, she is rather formidable.
Firearm Proficiency: Theresa’s item of choice is firearms of various kinds that she has developed. Since she is fully aware that without the use of MDP, she is at a disadvantage when squaring off against supernatural beings, speed and distance are her friends. And so, firearms were the naturally choice.

Theresa Starrk is born an utter disappointment, so much so that her parents didn’t even bother naming her. Born without a connection to sillage, the girl’s parents were disgusted to learn their daughter would never have any magical capabilities. Initially, the sillage obsessed couple cared for their spawn, holding onto the misplaced hope that she would prove everyone wrong and display some affinity towards sillage. However, at the tender age of five, she’s disposed of like yesterday’s garbage, abandoned on the streets of Ravanar to fend for herself. She isn’t expected to survive the crime riddled streets of Ravanar, but coupled with her determination to live and her unnatural intellect, she somehow manages long enough for someone to take pity on her.
That someone was Meredith Starrk, a renown scientist employed by the Weltschmerz. Removed from the streets of Ravanar, she is taken to Gaothaire - her new home. She is adopted and named Theresa Starrk and she spends the rest of her childhood within a loving home. Meredith nurtures Theresa’s mind, the child quickly showing an affinity towards making complex devices with the various items that she managed to get her hands on. It was obvious that Theresa had a natural talent as far as engineering was concerned and she was very much interested in chemical science - Meredith held that position.
As a natural result of her upbringing, Theresa Starrk quickly proves herself to be a master engineer and expert chemist, using her knowledge to invent a fair share of devices for Weltschmerz. She’s put under the engineer department, her mentor being Giselle Bell - the head of engineer. For three years, she worked underneath Giselle until several head positions were vacated. With the removal of the previous head of engineering, Theresa takes up the position as despite her expertise in chemical science, she was a better engineer and could easily be kept at the forefront - it also helped that she had been personally trained by Giselle.
Thus, at the age of twenty-two, Theresa Starrk is head of engineering and has decided to tackle the task of magitek weaponry as well as the various incomplete projects left behind by her predecessor.
She takes part in developing and creating MDP, it being her biggest accomplishment to date. She has continued to make advancements for Weltschmerz over the years with it materializing in the form of Project ARMs - which is meant to arm the soldiers of the organization.
