Yuichi Jin from World Trigger
+Has a several scars on his back and upper half of his arms.
Uriel: Gertrand's rottiger, which appear to be a pair of single-edged short swords. they are thin with a slight curve along the edge. The blades appear to be of the highest quality. There are etchings on the base of the blade, as if birds are flying out of the guard. The handles and guards are simple, yet ornate, as are the pommels, though they have odd cuts in them. The blades can be joined at the pommels to form a bow, a string of light forming at will.
When he activates his weapon and transforms, his bow glows as if it were made of light. The quiver with his arrows is gone, and he can create arrows of light. He is still able to separate the bow into two blades, both appearing longer and as if flames of bright light surround them. The arrows and blades can pierce normal metals, rendering common weaponsand armor useless.
Genius intelligence: The past fifteen years have not been spent idly. Gertrand has used his superior mind and absorbed as much knowledge as he could get. History, science, Sillage, anything he took any interest in. He also takes a great interest in the stories of those who come from other lands. This wealth of knowledge helps him in many situations, both in and out of combat.
Soul bond: While the soul within his weapon isn't conscious, it has a limited awareness, which can serve the one who wields it. Gertrand has a limited understanding of the angelic language while wielding the rottiger. He sometimes taps into the soul of the weapon for insight, yet appears to daydream or lose focus at random moments.
Uriel: Gertrand's Rottiger possesses the soul of an angel, which imparts certain abilities onto him while he is in contact with or near it. He can detect and do additional damge to undead, and he can illuminate his weapons.
When he activates his rottiger, his physiology changes. The most prominent change is that six angelic wings sprout from his back. A cracked halo forms over his head and he looks younger. There is a faint light about him, which he can turn off if he wishes.
Light manipulation: Over the past several years, Gertrand has discovered the ability to manipulate light, to a limited degree. He can project basic beams or waves of light as attacks. While it isn't on the level of a true angel, his attacks can still do harm to those who are vulnerable to the angel's light.
>Physical light: He can maintain basic constructs of light for a short period, though maintaining them takes concentration. He uses this more for creating obstacles and slowing down the opposition than offense.
Despite his very humble beginnings, Sora has always had a brilliant mind. Always being a step or two above many of his peers intellectually, the man could fairly be called a genius. He absorbs information easily, and can recall it just as easily.
Though he has academic tendencies, he prefers being out in the field. The way he sees it, there are enough people dedicating their time to research that he has plenty of materials to study and use as a base for his own work. But his time could be more effectively used in a more active role.
He gives the impression of a relaxed, pleasant young man, and for the most part its accurate. But he has a bit of a callous, cold attitude at times. Hints can be seen from time to time, though it is most apparent when he's performing the darker deeds of his order.
He views life in general as precious, and has no personal issue with supernatural beings in general. But he believes in the goals of Weltschmerz and sees their methods as necessary and efficient. If some must suffer for the greater good and progress, so be it.
Took an odd liking to his ephemera, creating friendly nicknames for his loyal charges. He knew that they wouldn't dream of trying anything bad.
Gertrand grew up in a small, out of the way farming village in Zhyphire, born to a pair of poor farmers. The early years of his life went by uneventfully, but as he gained more awareness of the world, it slowly became clear he wasn't quite like the other kids. He picked things up more quickly and had a greater grasp of things than them. He also developed a bit of a playful streak. It proved rather helpful, as he helped to improved how they did things around the farm. Of course, some weren't didn't particularly like him knowing more than them, and he slowly distanced himself from certain members of the village, including his father.
But he realized how limited he was there. By the time he was 12, he realized that the small village held nothing for him, aside from people he cared about. But there was a wide world out there, where he could learn so much more. And yet, he was just a kid far from the cities and sanctums of learning. He would be stuck for years.
His fortunes changed when, wandering around the fields one day, he ran into a older man who saw his potential. With a fair amount of convincing Gertrand was allowed to accompany the man to Gaothaire. There he learned that his savior was a member of Weltschmerz returning from a research trip, and he took Gertrand into his care.
The young man excelled in his new environment, surrounded by scholars and knowledge. Things that he could never have dreamed of before now seemed so possible. At 18, he was given custody of his first ephemera.
A few years later, he was chosen, and tested, to be a Rottiger. It was a grueling trial that came close to breaking him. But on that fateful day in the plains of Zhyphire, he proved that his efforts had been well rewarded. Since that day, he's performed his duties well and with enthusiasm.
